Water and Mongolia, June 2017

The demand for Mineral/Agriculture products and water resources are steadily increasing due to population growth and improved standards of living. More mineral/food require more water and improved technologies. However, Mongolia is in dessert and average rainfall in Mongolia is only less than one third to fifth of other countries. In addition, global climate change and extreme weather events aggravate the shortage of water resources availability. Therefore, the situation of Mongolia is becoming worse and worse because of the higher growth of the economy and more scarcity of the water.
Below are the analysis on the water problems in the world and how Mongolia should tackle on the issue.
